Michael Harling has been a writer all his life, an affliction that kept him from realizing his dream of being a great landscape artist, concert pianist and/or business executive.  Despite his diligent search for a cure (including copious amounts of alcohol, religious cults and a stint as a stand-up comic) his condition did not improve.  Eventually, he decided to live with it, and adjusted his dream to include world-famous novelist.
While residing in the US, Harling enjoyed modest success writing for newspapers, magazines and local radio.  The novel manuscripts he managed to complete deservedly enjoyed no such success, modest or otherwise.
As an expat living in the United Kingdom, Harling has published three books on expat life.  His current novel manuscripts continue to enjoy obscurity, a condition he hopes will soon change.
